If you are feeling unwell, public health officials are urging people to stay home to avoid spreading the Coronavirus, but this is only possible if you have a home. Renters across York South-Weston and the City of Toronto are facing unfair above-guideline rent increases, 'renovictions', and lack of maintenance repairs. In the middle of a public health pandemic, all levels of government must step up to protect renters and our city's most vulnerable populations.
We, the undersigned, demand all levels of government take immediate measures to protect renters and public health during the Coronavirus pandemic by:
1. Halting all evictions amid the pandemic
2. Postpone all hearings at the Landlord and Tenant Board amid the pandemic
